DAY 1

BRAGA (BOM JESUS DO MONTE) - SAMEIRO

PORTUGAL
  • Arrival in Porto, Portugal at 9:50 AM.
  • Transfer to the vicinity of Braga (approx. 50 km) and visit to the sanctuary of BOM JESUS DOS MONTE, the most beautiful sanctuary in Portugal (one of the most beautiful in Europe).
  • Holy Mass.
  • Then transfer (15 minutes) to Sameiro, where the sanctuary was consecrated by Pope John Paul II.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Sameiro.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
SAMEIRO OR PORTO

SPAIN - PORTUGAL
  • After breakfast, transfer (approx. 2 hours) to Santiago de Compostela.
  • Visit to the Cathedral of St. James, which for centuries has been a destination for pilgrims from all over Europe travelling the famous Camino de Santiago route.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral.
  • Followed by 2 hours of free time in the old town.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Sameiro or Porto.

DAY 3

PORTO – FATIMA

PORTUGAL
  • After breakfast, a one hour drive to Porto to visit the city: the cathedral, Sao Bento station, Dom Luís I bridge and a view of the city from the top of the bridge. Holy Mass in the Cathedral.
  • Then visit the Ribeira port district in the lower part of the city, followed by a walk across the Dom Luís I Bridge to the other side of the river, where you can enjoy the most beautiful view of the city.
  • Visit to a Porto Wine cellar with tasting.
  • Transfer to Fatima (approx. 2.5-3 hours).
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Fatima.
  • After dinner (for those who wish), Divine Service of Fatima and a candlelight procession.

DAY 4

FATIMA

PORTUGAL
  • After breakfast, sightseeing in Fatima: visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary (in Fatima), where the altar depicts the scene of Mary's apparition to three children: Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta; the Chapel of the Apparitions; and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.
  • Visit to the Fatima Museum, where we will see, among other things, the original crown from the statue of Our Lady, which contains the bullet fired at Pope John Paul II on 13 May 1981.
  • Time for private prayer, souvenir shopping and rest.
  • In the afternoon, the Way of the Cross procession, during which we will see the places where Our Lady appeared to the children of Fatima.
  • Visit to Valinhos in Fatima, where the children of Fatima lived. We will visit Lucia's house, as well as the houses of Francisco and Jacinta, see the wells where the angel appeared to the shepherds, and the parish church where the shepherds of Fatima were baptised.
  • Holy Mass in Fatima.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Fatima.
  • After dinner, Divine Service of Fatima and a candlelight procession.

DAY 5

BATALHA – ALCOBACA - NAZARE – FATIMA

PORTUGAL
  • After breakfast, transfer to Batalha (20 km – approx. 30 min), where the Dominican monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória with its royal cloisters and beautiful Gothic chapels is located. The site included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990.
  • Transfer to Alcobaça (25 km – approx. 40 min), where the Cistercian monastery of Santa Maria de Alcobaça is located, along with the entire monastery complex, where we will learn about the tragic story of King Peter I and his beloved Ines de Castro.
  • Then we will go to Nazaré (25 km - approx. 40 min), where the Black Madonna sanctuary is located on a cliff overlooking a precipice, offering a breathtaking view of the entire Nazaré coast.
  • Holy Mass in Nazaré.
  • Free time to relax on the Atlantic Ocean beach, on the famous Nazaré beach, where the world's largest waves are formed, reaching up to 30 m in height.
  • Return to Fatima for dinner and overnight stay.
  • After dinner, Divine Service of Fatima and a candlelight procession.

DAY 6

FATIMA – COIMBRA

PORTUGAL
  • After breakfast, transfer to Coimbra (approx. 90 km - about 1.5 hours), visit the old town, the beautiful Santa Cruz Church with its magnificent Ajureiros and the oldest university in Portugal.
  • Return to Fatima and Holy Mass.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Fatima.
  • After dinner, Divine Service of Fatima and a candlelight procession.

LISBON – FARO

PORTUGAL
  • After breakfast, transfer to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, and sightseeing: the cathedral (Sé), the church dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua and the house where he was born, the Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, the Jerónimos Monastery.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral or the church of St. Anthony.
  • Transfer to the Faro area for dinner and overnight stay (approx. 2 hours).

SEVILLE – MARBELLA

SPAIN
  • After breakfast, transfer (approx. 2.5 hours) to Seville, the capital of the Andalusia region.
  • We will start our tour with the magnificent Plaza de Espana, considered one of the most beautiful squares in Spain, with its impressive neo-Moorish architecture.
  • Next, we will visit the Cathedral of Santa María, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, where we will admire the Giralda, the tallest bell tower in Spain. The cathedral houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus, which makes this place even more special.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral, which was visited by John Paul II on 20 June 1993.
  • Next, we will visit the Alcázar Real, a royal palace with richly decorated interiors and beautiful gardens.
  • 1.5 hours of free time in the Santa Cruz district, full of narrow streets, whitewashed houses and charming squares, where you can feel the atmosphere of authentic Seville and try local specialities.
  • In the afternoon, transfer to a resort in Marbella, near Malaga, for dinner and overnight stay.

MALAGA

SPAIN
  • After breakfast, transfer to Malaga and visit the Renaissance cathedral, known as La Manquita (the one-armed lady) because of its characteristic tower.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral where John Paul II prayed in 1982.
  • Then we will see: Teatro Romano – the ruins of a Roman theatre from the 1st century BC, Castillo de Gibralfaro – a castle built in the 14th century on a hill with a beautiful view of Malaga, and the Basilica of Santa Maria de la Victoria.
  • A walk along the promenade and 1.5 hours of free time.
  • After the tour, return to Marbella for dinner and overnight stay.

GRANADA – ALHAMBRA

SPAIN
  • After breakfast, transfer to Granada. Visit to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, one of the most important churches in Andalusia. The Royal Chapel (Capilla Real), located next to the cathedral, where the tombs of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon are located.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral where Pope John Paul II prayed on 3 November 1982.
  • 1.5 hours of free time in the Albaicín district, full of narrow, winding streets, white houses and beautiful views of the Alhambra. Then transfer to the UNESCO-listed Alhambra, built in the Moorish style.
  • Tour of the Alhambra, the summer residence of the Moorish rulers, considered one of the most beautiful palaces of its kind in the world. We will see the Nasrid Palace with its beautiful interiors, richly decorated ceilings and courtyards, the Generalife Gardens with their stunning views of the city and other parts of the residence.
  • After the tour, return to Marbella for dinner and overnight stay.

CORDOBA

SPAIN
  • After breakfast, transfer to Cordoba and visit the beautiful cathedral, which was once a magnificent mosque, one of the most beautiful in the region of Andalusia.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral where Pope John Paul II prayed on 4 November 1982.
  • After Mass, a romantic walk through the old part of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with picturesque narrow streets such as Calleja de las Flores, decorated with flowers hanging from the walls of buildings.
  • A walk across the Puente Romano, a Roman bridge with 16 arches, offering a beautiful panoramic view of the city and the Mezquita, the cathedral of Cordoba. Then we visited the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Palace of the Catholic Monarchs, built in the 14th century on the site of a former Moorish fortress, which became the residence of the Catholic Monarchs, Isabella and Ferdinand.
  • After the tour, return to Marbella for dinner and overnight stay.

GIBRALTAR - MARBELLA

SPAIN
  • After breakfast, transfer to Gibraltar, a British enclave in Spain.
  • We will start the tour with a visit to the Old Town with its narrow streets, St. Mary's Cathedral, and Fort Royal, which offers a beautiful view of the harbour.
  • Holy Mass in the cathedral, which was visited by Pope John Paul II on 9 May 1995.
  • Next, we will visit the famous Rock of Gibraltar, which rises 426 metres above sea level, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and Africa, just 24 kilometres away.
  • Gibraltar is the only place in Europe where monkeys – Barbary macaques – live in the wild. They are the only wild monkeys in Europe that can be found here. Macaques are a symbol of Gibraltar, and legend has it that as long as they are present, Gibraltar will remain under British rule.
  • Gibraltar is a well-known duty-free shopping destination, where you can find attractive prices for alcohol, cosmetics and electronic gadgets.
  • After the trip, return to Marbella for dinner and overnight stay.

RONDA

SPAIN
  • After breakfast, transfer to Ronda (approx. 1.5 hours) and sightseeing tour of the city.
  • Puente Nuevo and El Tajo gorge is a viewpoint overlooking a 100-metre chasm, offering panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains.
  • Walk through the cobbled streets of the old town with its distinctive architecture.
  • We will visit Plaza de Toros de Ronda, one of the oldest bullfighting arenas in Spain, where bullfights were held until recently.
  • Holy Mass at the Iglesia de Santa María la Mayor church.
  • Free time (2 hours) for coffee/tapas and local delicacies and independent sightseeing.
  • Late afternoon, return to Marbella for dinner and overnight stay.

  • After breakfast, free time to relax.
  • For those interested, there is an optional afternoon boat trip along the Costa del Sol to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
  • Holy Mass in the Hotel.
